After coming back from my seven weeks Feng Shui working holiday, I have been very busy with my clients in Melbourne. Some clients want me to do their annual Feng Shui update. Some clients want me to look at their new house design. Another good news is that when I came back. I client rang me and told me after the Feng Shui changed, she is already pregnant.
Before I went way in November, I have put up the Good Days Bad Days for November and December 2014. Sorry for not putting up the January 2015.
From now on, I will put the good and bad days up again for you in the different format. I have done a whole year one. if you are planning ahead, you can buy it in my shop.
Soon we are entering to the year of the Goat 2015.
In the following short article, I will give you some tips on how to acquire the auspicious energy and avoid bad energy on the Chinese New Year Day!
There is also information answer to the hangout video with Vicki and Dr. Mavi. You may want to watch the video first.
In the past, on the Chinese New Year day, in order to receive the good Qi, there were a few activities to be done. And some activities must not do to avoid bad energy.
In traditional Chinese farming society, in order to attract the good luck and hope for a good harvest year to come, there were a few activities to be performed on the first new moon day of the year. And due to the characteristic of the Chinese Almanac, the Chinese New Year day always falls on the first new moon day of the year.
On the Chinese New Year day, any farming activity was put aside. It is a holiday for the farmers. (Most countries in Asia nowadays still keep the tradition – No work on the day)
So what are the do and don’t activities?
Activities to be done: include worship the ancestors, using good words to greet people, wear new clothes, burn fire crackers at certain hour, put up the meaningful good luck wordings stickers on the walls, such as “Gong Hei Fat Choi”, “Good health Good wealth”.
Activities NOT to be done:
1. Don’t using a pair of scissors (it cuts the luck),
2. Don’t sweep the floor (sweep away wealth and luck);
3. Don’t greet someone while they are still in bed (someone lies down to be greeted means they will be unwell in the year to come). And
4. Ladies don’t hurry their men to get out of the bed. (Meaning the man cannot settle down in the year, always push by someone)
In the video, Dr Mavi asked me how to welcome the Goat,
My answer to her question was we need to go to a certain direction to receive the auspicious Qi. We don’t need to wear red underwear.
The auspicious direction to go on the Chinese new year day on the 19th Feb, year of the Goat or sheep.
You can use:
3-7am, 11-1pm or 5-7pm then;
Drive or walk toward West direction for at least 20 minutes to meet the Money God and the Promotion God. Incidentally, both Money God and Promotion God are coming from the same direction on the Chinese New Year day.
Someone may have read the Earth Luck prediction and they may ask the west direction in the year of the Goat, there are the Three-Killings and the Five-Yellow Sha Qi. How come we are still going to the west direction?
The answers is those Sha Qi are calculated using different levels. The Three-Killings is calculated using the 12 branches, it is related to the ground. So as long as no “Move Earth” or digging ground, you will not activate the Sha Qi. The Five-Yellow is calculated using the stars.
The Money God and Promotion God on the Chinese New Year day are calculated using the Moon. And it is only valid on the Chinese New Year Day.
Year of the Goat Predictions 2015 part 1 - Heaven Luck – by Edgar Lok Tin Yung – November 2014
Yearly predictions should use the Jia zi (甲子) cycle (Sexagenary cycle) and look at three different levels using the elements of the Heavenly Stem and Earthly branch of the year.
These three levels are:
1. The Heaven Luck (predicts major issues of the world and weather).
2. The Earth Luck (Feng Shui for homes, offices and a nation.)
3. The Man Luck (predicts individual animal sign luck in the coming year)
Same as the past years, I will write an article for Heaven Luck, Earth Luck and Man Luck. Hopefully, it can be another piece of useful information for you to make reference to.
Heaven Luck is to predict major world events, weather and natural disasters. So people can prepare for it. For example, people can increase their insurance premium in the areas where may affect them.
The energy of Heaven Luck kicks in when the Earth is passing the Winter Solstice, normally on the 21st or 22nd in December each year calculating from North hemisphere point of view. Let’s look at the characteristics of the Heavenly Stem and Earthly branches in 2015.
The Heavenly Stem for 2015 is Yin Wood (乙).
The Earthly Branch underneath is Wei (未). Its animal sign is Goat.
The hidden elements are Yin Fire Ding (丁) and Yin wood (乙).
The Earthly Branch Wei (未) is the Wood Storage.
Overall the year of the Goat has strong Yin Wood element.
The way of arrangement is top down.
乙 (Yin Wood)
未 (Yin Earth with Yin Fire and Yin Wood hidden under the Earth)
This is a picture of Yin Wood on dry Earth:
With such combinations, we can see these issues:
1. The Yin wood element is strong. Strong Wood Element controls Earth Element. Coincidentally, the annual flying star number 3 Wood also flies into the centre palace. The centre Palace is Earth element. Strong wood element controls Earth element. As the result, it may bring strong earthquakes in 2015 especially in March, April, September and October 2015.
2. Yin Wood is Xun Gua and Xun is wind. In the year of Goat 2015, we can see more tropical cyclone activities. If you live in the tropical cyclone belt, make sure you have adequate protection, such insurance, fix up the windows, and strengthen up the roofs.
3. Natural disasters bring thunderstorms, power failures, lightning or electrical accidents in the year of the Goat.
4. Wood element on top controls Earth element. It symbolizes that the upper level supresses the lower level. Such as any government will increase force to supress rebels. As it is Yin wood element year, the government is most likely doing it secretly or manipulatively. As consequence, it may bring wars and killings.
5. Wei is Earth element and earth element is Faith, religious, traditional culture, traditional customs, traditions beliefs, traditional practices, traditional systems etc., will be faced with big challenges.
6. Earth element is land, property, buildings, construction and so on. The Earth element is controlled by Wood in the year of the Goat. So, there will be new rules or regulations against the Earth element, such as land, properties. Earth element is supressed hence property price may drop.
7. Earth element is the digestive system, muscle, skin controlled by Wood, there may be issue related to these areas. So be more health conscious and eat healthy.
8. The flying star number 3, in the centre of the 9 palace meaning fighting, lawsuit, arguing, gossiping is coming to the centre of attention.
9. The Three-killing and Five Yellow Sha is located at the West, there will be issues, as violent or sexual harassment to the younger females. (Some more explanation in the Earth Luck article)
10. We are now in Feng Shui age 8. The age star number 8 is also in the centre palace. The annual flying star number 3 (Wood element) controls the number 8 (Earth element)
The Earth element 8 can means young kids and property. So, make you keep an eye on your children more closely and frequently. Property price may be slowing due to some controlling.
11, Bush Fire, the yin fire Ding is hidden in the Earth Branch, as year of the Goat is Wood element dominating. The Fire is waiting there patiently for it chance. There are two ways the fire can be rushed out. First, in the Horse month (June 2015) the horse combine with the Goat to produce Fire. So in June in North hemisphere, there will be bush fire Secondly, by clashing with the Ox month (January 2015), the fire in the Goat will be released. So Fire in January 2015 is in South hemisphere.
In the year of the Goat predictions, Earth is property, building construction. The industry will be controlled by the Wood element.
Be very careful in these months January, April, July, October in 2015 if you are speculating on the share market.
January means early January to early February.
April means early April to early May.
July means early July to early August and
October means early October to early November.
“甲午乙未砂中金” The Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch combine and they produce Metal element in year of the Horse 2014 and year of the Goat 2015. It is called “Gold in Sand”.
Gold here means metal element. Metal element is hidden inside sands. Excessive fire element damages the Metal element. Metal element is banking and finance, accounting, insurance, mining, metal manufacturing industries and so on.
Year of the Goat 2015, the annual Feng Shui flying star number 3 will be located in the centre palace. The number 3 is Wood element (Zhen Gua). Other than the above mentioned earthquake issue. Number 3 also represents Gossip, dispute, argue and controversy. Remember “Silence is golden”.
Current Feng Shui age 8 (8 is Gen Gua, representing Children), 8 is leading element in the centre palace. The leading element 8 Earth is controlled by the 3 wood element in 2015. Hopefully it will not bring too much of issue to the young kiddies.
The year of the Goat 2015 has 3 dragons producing water. Dragon is the Water storage. Each year the more the dragons produce water, the more rainfall it produces. Year of the Goat has 3 dragons out of 12 dragons producing water. It will be a slightly drier year. With dry weather, again it will be more fire issues.
Generally, the weather patterns or events in the year of Pig, Rabbit and Goat are slower to evolve and to fade away, in the other words, the cold spells and summery days stay on for relatively longer periods.
In this part, it is the animal sign luck or Man Luck predictions. Man luck is about each and every animal sign of us. There are total 12 animal signs in Chinese Astrology. Each of us was born with an animal sign. So what is the year of the Goat 2015 hold for us?
A very important concept needs to remember first.
Animal sign luck of a person is calculated by the year of birth. The animal sign does not start from Chinese New Year to the next Chinese New Year. The Chinese Animal sign of the year changes at the “Start of Spring”. It normally falls on the western calendar on the 4th or 5th February each year.
A FULL Chinese Astrology reading examines NOT only the year of birth but also the birth month, the day and the birth hour together with the Luck and yearly pillars. Chinese Astrology reading focus on the day we were born. The day we were born is called the Day Master or DM.
So, it is difficult to completely and fully predict just by using the animal signs or Chinese zodiac signs on how each year will affect each person individually at a very details level.
Such animal sign luck astrology is not totally reliable as the system is only examined 12.5% (1/8) or in some cases 25% (1/4) of the four pillars natal chart.
For more reliable assessment in all aspects of your life in year of the Goat 2015, it is recommended that you go to check your Four Pillars of Destiny fully with a reputable Chinese Astrology consultant near you.

Feng Shui Year of the Goat or Feng Shui Earth luck is about our house and our office.
It is to deal with the good and bad yearly Feng Shui energy or Qi in where we live, work and play. We need to activate the good energy / Qi and balance the bad energy / Qi if there is any.
As some of you may know, each year, there are three big Sha (煞氣 Bad Energy / Qi) and two to three lucky stars flying around depending on the sector of your house.
These three Sha Qi are called the Grand Duke or the Tai Sui(太歲), The Three-killings (三煞) and The Five Yellow (五黃).
These three Sha Qi have the power to override any natal flying stars chart combinations regardless how good the flying star chart is.
The three positive energy or lucky stars are number 6, 8 and 9. Here are the directions and positions of the good and bad energy in the year of the Goat around your house and office.
1. The Tai Sui (Grand Duke) in the Feng Shui year of the Goat, It is located at the Southwest south sector. (未字位202.5 – 217.50 degree)
2. San Sha (the three-killings) arrives at the West. (Dui Gwa 兌卦247.5-292.50 degree).
3. The Five Yellow. It is also landed at the West. (Dui Gwa. 兌卦)
4. The power and promotion star number 6 is at Northeast.(Gen Gwa 艮卦)
5. The money and prosperity star number 8 is at North (Kan Gwa 坎卦).
6. The Flower of Romance star number 9 is at Southwest.(Kun Gwa 坤卦)
In traditional Feng Shui, there is a Feng Shui saying: it stated that:
“Avoid big the Sha. Cure medium Sha. Neglect tiny Sha.” (大煞宜避, 中煞可制, 小煞不理)
The number one rule to deal with the Sha energy / Qi is: “DO NOT disturb it”. So “Move Earth”, digging ground or renovating the areas or sectors inside or outside of the house is prohibited.
The Tai Sui is also known as The Grand Duke. It is the yearly King. The Tai Sui locates at the South west south sector in the year of the Goat. The Wei is the Kun Gwa (坤卦) and it is Earth element. Kun Gwa is the mother or an older female Gwa.
Earth Element is related to the Earth system in our body. Earth element is the digestive system, muscle, skin there may be issue related to these areas if the main door is located at this sector.
The main door of your house faces southwest, the mother or ladies over age of 50 years old should pay more attention to the Earth system of her body.
The best way to minimize bad luck and sickness energy is not to stir up the yearly bad energy sector. Yearly bad energy is like a sleeping tiger. It will be fine if the tiger has not been disturbed. However, if the tiger is wakening up, it will hurt you.
“Move Earth” such as digging, renovation, will disturb the Bad Energy, so DO NOT dig, nailing, chisel and renovate the Tai Sui sector including the floor, ground, garden, and the walls inside and outside.
Don’t slam the door as sound waves can activate the Sha Qi. Make sure opening and closing the door slowly and gently.
To reduce the impact of the Tai Sui, place three lucky bamboos in a tall rectangular vase.
In the year of the Goat 2015, the Dui Gwa or the West sector of your house and office got the Sha Qi of the Three-killings and the FIVE-YELLOW.
The Three-killings represent lawsuits, gossips, arguments. The Five Yellow is a bad Feng Shui annual star. It represents misfortune and obstacles
The Dui Gwa is the youngest daughter area. So if there is a door way, the youngest female of the house will face challenges, particularly in July 2015.
Young females, particularly the rooster sign, make sure you have someone to accompany when you are late for home.
The Dui Gwa is respiratory system. The Sha Qi can cause lung, throat and large intestine issues.
In global Feng Shui Luck, the Three-Killing and the FIVE-Yellow is at the West sector, the West sector is Europe. West is Metal. Metal is banking and finance, there will be bad financial or banking issues starting in the Europe and cause worldwide panic most likely in July, August 2015.
To minimize the bad effects of the Three-killing and Five Yellow for your house and office in the west sector, place a black ceramic vase with 80% full of water and place red 2 flowers in the vase.
You cannot change the main door position but you can move yourself away from the bad energy areas. You can move yourself to other sector if you sleep at the west sector.
The annual star number 8 which means wealth and prosperity is located in the North sector in the year of the Goat 2015. It is the best sector of the year. (I will move my desk to this sector when I come back from my holiday.)
You can activate this sector with moving water or an indoor pot plant about 1.3 metres tall. You can simply work in the North Sector.
You can also move your bed and sleep at this area if there is a room. If there is a doorway, use it more often for coming in or going out.
The promotion annual star number 6 comes to North east. It will benefit the youngest son. The annual flying star number 6 is metal element and it represents power and promotion. To activate this area you need to place 6 x 20 cents coins with the heads face upward in this sector. Make sure you wash the coins first. However, in this area, there are Sui Poh and the Five Tiger Sha, so “Move Earth” or Digging is prohibited.
The romance annual star number 9 brings romance and happiness is located at the Kun Gwa, Southwest sector. In the area, it has the Tai Sui. If the area is not distributed, there will be some good and happy events coming through the door.
The above summed up some important areas for your house and office. As each house and office are different. If you are not sure what you are doing, you can always contact a Feng Shui consultant near you.
All the best and have a prosperity Feng Shui Lucky year of the Goat 2015!
Good Bad Days 2015
The good bad days 2015 Pdf file covers the good and bad days from 1st January – 31st December 2015.
Good Day is generally good for everything such opening, launching products, signing contract.
Some good days are particularly good for wedding. I marked GW. Good for wedding.
I also put in the BH which means Best Hours of the day. In the Date Selection it is in 2 hours interval. (Day light saving must take into consideration.) I will explain below:
Using Melbourne as an example, in day light saving period, the clock is put one hour forward the GMT. So the watch hour is different from the solar hour. If it is 11am in Day light saving period, it is not the starting of the Horse hour. You need to take away one hour, and solar hour is only 10am and it is still with the Snake hour. This is important. You don’t need to convert to Beijing Time. Just use the time in your city. Another important factor is the longitude of the city or area you live can affect the solar time as well.
In the calendar, I also give you the methods (time and direction) to welcome the money god on the Chinese New Year day on the 19th February 2015. By doing so, it brings good luck for the whole year.
B = Bad day GD= Good for Demolition
O =ok day BH = Best Hours
G = good day AM= Avoid Major event
GW = Good for Weddings
NHC = No Hair Cut

In Feng Shui, An aquarium or Fish tank sometimes can be used to activate certain sector of the house to bring in some desired results.
The following information answers a few important Feng Shui aquarium questions:
1. Where is the best place at home to put an aquarium?
2. How many fish and what colour of the fish should be kept in the feng shui aquarium?
A Feng Shui aquarium meaning that there is a pump with filtration system, water and fish in it.
Well, there is no such a best place to put a Feng Shui aquarium as each home its facing direction is different. The sector to place the Feng Shui Aquarium depends on what is the objective of placing this aquarium. Some people may want to activate their wealth sector in order to have better income. Some people may want to activate their romance sector to attract a soul mate or better romance. Some people may want to activate name and fame. So it is hard to nominate the best place for an aquarium without knowing the facing direction of the house and what is the desired outcome.
However there are some rules we need to follow when placing a Feng Shui aquarium.
1. A feng Shui aquarium is not ideal to place in a bedroom.
2. A feng Shui aquarium should not place at the centre of the house.
3. A feng Shui aquarium should not making loud noise.
4. A feng Shui aquarium should not place at the yearly Tai Sui (Grand Duke) or the Three Killings sector of the year.
5. Without knowing the facing of the house and you like to place an aquarium at home. The ideal place is in the living area. And it should at the right hand side when you are entering into the living area.
It really does not matter how many fish in the aquarium. Because it is not the number of fish bring in the effect. The effect brings in by the moving water of the aquarium. So if you have an aquarium with an electric pump, and it is on all the time and moving the water in the aquarium. It does not need any fish at all. The fish in the aquarium is actually for decoration. You can use fake fish.
Most of the people will think that the aquarium produce water energy. In fact it is more than just spreading water energy. The water energy is used to activate whatever prosperous energy in that particular sector.
The Dog month starts on the 8th October and lasts until 7th November 2014.
There is a rule in date selection. It is not to perform important event within five days before and after the lunar or solar eclipse. In October 8th, there is lunar eclipse coming up and on the 24th October, there is solar eclipse. So be sure avoiding major event, particularly outdoor one.
Anyway, here are the BAD days in the Dog month in the year of the Horse 2014 including the day near the two eclipses. Avoid using these dates except for demolishing or knock down walls for renovation.

Feng Shui Roof Top Garden, Green Hat and Affair!
Recently I have heard a new interesting NO NO Feng Shui rule about Feng Shui garden on top of a residential building.
A roof top garden, of course it is green and if it is on top of a residential building. Some Feng Shui consultants call this is a building wearing a green hat. A building wearing a green hat symbolises that a man wearing a green hat.
Man "wearing a green hat" is a modern term that Chinese use when a woman cheats on her husband. So it is a taboo to give a green hat (a physical one) to a man as a gift. However originally, it did not mean man with unlawful wife.
Originally, date back to Ming dynasty (1368 – 1644), Ming Taizu Hungwu Emperor, when he came to power and he wanted to promote higher moral and social value. He ordered any man he works in a brothel or any man he has a family member works in a brothel must wear a green bandana. As time passed by, a green bandana became ‘green hat’.
As a traditional Feng Shui consultant, this Feng Shui roof top garden, aka: “wearing a green hat” stuff, it does not consider as Traditional Feng Shui.
As matter of the fact, It is totally opposite to the traditional Feng Shui. in traditional Feng Shui, the roof tiles should be green. Why?
In traditional Feng Shui, the Qian Gua is Metal element. The Qian Gua represents Heaven. Metal element produces Water element. (Heaven rains). Water element produces Wood element. Green tile is Wood element. The Wall is red represents Fire element. The Fire element produce Earth element. The Earth is the place we live.
In traditional Feng Shui the roof top ideally is green. It is used to convert the Water element into Fire element to make up one Wu Xing (Five element) cycle.
In the year of the Horse 2002, twelve years ago I had my house roof painted green. I don’t think it had any bad effect on my relationship with my wife neither she was having an affair.
This is my roof top views from Google map. The roof top needs repaint now and I will still paint in green.
