Feng Shui bed placement is ultra-important in Feng Shui. As we sleep seven to eight hours in our bed every night or everyday if someone works night shift. So if a bed is placed at the correct Feng Shui sector in the bedroom, it can make a difference to a few areas.

The bed we sleep, for most people are the single place where spend the longest time in a day.

Arguably, we are at our office desk for almost the same length of time or even more time compare with the time staying in our bed. However, don’t forget the lunch breaks, tea time, toilet breaks or sometimes needing to see clients or meeting with the seniors. As a result, we are not consecutively spending seven to eight hours at our office desk. So office desk placement is important too. There is another article for me to write in the future.

Undoubtedly, in Feng Shui, the bed we sleep and its placement position in our bedroom has great effect on our well-beings, such as luck, health, fertility or pregnancy.

There are seven different Feng Shui ways of bed placement in a bed room. The bed positon or bed placement to be set up in the bedroom is depending on what is the priority to the person(s) who sleep there.

There is Feng Shui bed placement in a room for single and Feng Shui bed placement in a room for couples.

These seven Feng Shui bed placement methods are:

1. Form Feng Shui principle (形家法) bed placement
2. Eight Houses Feng Shui principle (八宅法) bed placement
3. San He Feng Shui principle (三合法) bed placement
4. Eight Doors Feng Shui principle (八門法) bed placement
5. San Yuan Eight Doors Feng Shui (三元八門法) bed placement
6. Nine Stars Feng Shui principle (九星法) bed placement
7. Yearly Sun Star Feng Shui principle (流年太陽法) bed placement

Most of the Feng Shui consultants, they set up the bed placement for their clients using the first method in the above list, the Form Feng Shui principle bed placement.

The Form Feng Shui principle bed placement is the fundamental method. It is good to set up the bed with the following Form Feng Shui principles:

The bed head should against a solid wall but avoid the wall with the door.
The bed should be in a control position
Bed is not underneath a beam
Bedroom door or ensuite door does not open to the bed.
When lie down, the right side of the bed does not against the wall.
No big objects hanging above the bed
No skylight above the bed.
No sharp objects put under the bed
No mirrors face to the bed
Bed should not be at an angle with wall (Some article says it is also a control position. It is not true. Do not place your bed this way.)
No TV and big electronic devices in the room.

Feng Shui Bed Placement

After the above conditions are met, we can add an extra layer of Feng Shui bed placement method to the above according to client’s requirement.

The Eight Houses Feng Shui principle (八宅法) bed placement method is used to improve a person’s health. This method is for a person to sleep face to their own favourable feng shui direction also known as favourable Ming Gua direction to improve health.

If the person is healthy and just need to improve luck, then it is preferred to use the Eight Doors Feng Shui principle (八門法) or San Yuan Eight Doors Feng Shui principle (三元八門) for Feng Shui bed placement.

The above Feng Shui bed placement methods are for single. Here come the Feng Shui bed placement methods for couples.

The Nine Stars Feng Shui principle (九星法) bed placement is depending on who is the bread winner of the house. If it is the wife, then the way of bed placement is set up is for the husband to support the wife. If the bread winner is the husband, then the way Feng Shui bed placement is set up for the wife to support the husband. Traditionally, there was always bed placement for wife to support husband in Nine Star Feng Shui bed placement. Nowadays wife may earn more money than her husband, so the Nine Stars bed placement Feng Shui principle needs to be flexibly used.

The San He Feng Shui principle (三合法) bed placement method is used to speed up and improve the chance of fertility or pregnancy. In a formula, it uses the birthday of the husband, the direction and position of the bed head in the room, then with a pre-selected day and time to set up the bed placement. This method works and I have been helping a few couples already. However sometimes, that particular bed placement position cannot be found. This explains why some couples, after moving to another house, they are easier getting pregnant.

Traditionally Chinese are patriarchal, so the Yearly Sun Star Feng Shui principle (流年太陽法) bed placement is to help speed up pregnancy with a boy. This method needs to work with the San He Feng Shui principle. However, the yearly Sun Star may not be so accurately located at desired sector of the house.

Number Four 4 is innocent in Feng Shui.

“My house is number 4 is it bad Feng Shui? “
“My apartment number is 4 is it bad Feng Shui?”
“My house number is 49, 4+9 = 13, 1+3 = 4. Is it bad Feng Shui?”

I was asked such questions from clients very often. Well, my answer to them is: “I can guarantee that your house number, 4, 14, 24, 34, or 44…x4 has nothing to do with traditional Feng Shui. It does not affect the Qi flows into your house.”

Traditional Feng Shui is not a collection of beliefs. Traditional Feng Shui is all about the sitting and facing directions of a house, the correct position of the main entrance to harvest the Qi for your wealth, the correct position of the kitchen to promote your health, the correct position of the master bedroom to give you good relationship with your spouse and the correct position of the toilet and so on. Most people misunderstand number 4 is bad in Feng Shui. In fact it is superstitious, not real Feng Shui.

Chinese people do not like the pronunciation of “4”. In Cantonese its sound is “Si”. In Mandarin its sound is “Sì”. It has a very similar sound but different tone to “Sǐ” meaning death or die. So most people believe 4 is Bad Feng Shui.

Well in my opinion, number 4 is innocent. Four (4) actually it is a very good number.

In the Flying Star Feng Shui School, number 4 is an academic star. If the number 4 Star is used correctly at home, it will promote better academic result for kids. If the number 4 direction (South East) of a city has a tall building, it promotes the culture of that city. You can read Tall building of a City to find out more about it.

Number 4 and money $There may be a normal computer keyboard in front of you while you are reading this article. Look at the Key number 4 now, what can you see on top of the 4. Yes, it is the $ sign. You can associate number 4 with ($) money rather than death. Number 4 is money. Number 4 is actually associated with money, a lot of money.

Mr. Lee Shau-kee, 86 years old, from Hong Kong in 2014 has net worth of US$21.4 billion. He is the second richest person in Hong Kong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Shau-kee

Mr. Lee Shau-kee is also known as “Uncle Four (4)”. He is not only healthy and longevity but also is very rich person too.

Uncle 4 is definitely associated with the $ sign on top of the keyboard key number 4.

Wind and Water Feng Shui

Feng Shui is Wind Water in Chinese.

Wind and Water Feng Shui, As most the Feng Shui enthusiasts know that the word “Shui” in “Feng Shui” means water and “Feng” means “Wind”. Wind and Water Feng Shui, these are two Chinese Characters of “Feng Shui” (Wind Water).

Some Feng Shui skeptics may ask where Feng Shui is or show me the Feng Shui or wind and water Feng Shui.

In fact, if we think about it wisely, we are all living inside Feng Shui (Wind and Water Feng Shui ) world. We can survive a few days without water. However, we cannot survive more than 30 minutes without wind (air).

If the Earth we live in without Feng Shui, we all die.

Next time when you come across a Feng Shui Skeptic, if they ask you such question again, tell them Feng is wind. It is air or Qi. Then you tell them to close their mouth and use their thumb and index finger to hold tight to their nose, as tight as no air can get through. Work out how long they can hold their breath for.

For an ordinary person, I bet they can’t hold their breath for more than 10 minutes, unless they had special training. The world record of holding breath under water is 22:22 minutes. This means even the highly trained professional cannot live without Feng , air or Qi for more than half an hour.

Feng Shui is all about Qi, the flowing of Qi. In classical Feng Shui Text it states: “Qi is the mother of Water; Water is the son of Qi”. So the secret to Feng Shui is the flow of Qi, air, wind or Feng. In the other words it is the flow of water too. By combining Feng wind and Shui water together they become Feng Shui.

Feng Shui Master Guo Po (276-324) wrote the first and the earliest Feng Shui book was called “Zang Shu” (The Book of Burial) is often considered to be the founder of the Feng Shui principles. “Feng Shui” was first mentioned in his book too.

A few sentences from Zang Shu: Wind and Water Feng Shui

“Qi is dispersed when it rides on the wind [Feng]“
And is halted when it is bounded by a water course [Shui].”
The ancients were able to accumulate it and prevent it from dispersing.
They could channel it and keep it in one place.
And so it was called Feng Shui.

When water flows slowly, so does the qi. That is why in an area when the Feng Shui (wind water) in a river flows slowly, the Qi flows slowly too. It looks like the Qi wants to stay there. When Qi slowly comes and stays at an area, this area must be a good area. To inspect the Qi flows slow or fast, it is to look the shape of the incoming Qi. When water Qi flowing slowly it must be in the shape of sine waves. Like this.

Feng Shui Qi flow slowly in sine wave shape!

Feng Shui Qi flow slowly in sine wave shape!

By apply the above Feng Shui principal; it is easy to understand why some areas or suburbs near such shape of water flow are doing well. In Melbourne, the suburbs have such shape of water flow are Toorak and South Yarra. Now you understand why these suburbs are doing very well.

Good Feng Shui Suburb

River flows to these suburbs in sine wave shape!

If you go to Google map and check out the shape of the river in other suburbs, there are no other suburbs with such sine wave river patterns.

year of horseFrom the 6th June to the 7th July is the Horse month in the Year of the Horse 2014.

Things will be very drastic in the horse month, such as fire and accidents relates to fire. It is because the Horse month in the year of the Horse. Double horses double impacts.

If you were born in the year of the Rat or your Day Master (the day you were born) is Rat, then be very careful while you are driving. Don’t talk on your mobile phone or try to text someone. You can read more about Your Animal Sign Luck 2014.

In term of date selection, the Rat day in the Horse month is very bad. It is not only clashing by the month (horse) and year (horse too), but also it is the three killings day too. So do not select the rat day to perform any important event.

Anyway, here are the BAD days in the Horse month in the year of the Horse 2014.

In Chinese Face Reading, a good fortune teller or Feng Shui Master does not only read the face contours of their clients, but also read their words, the way they talk (in order to identify their internal Qi), their movements, their responses, the body languages, face colours, so called “氣色” “Qi Colour” in English.

“Qi colour” is very difficult to read. It must be read in person and under natural sun light to get the best result. So it is impossible to read someone’s face using Skype video call or face time in great details, especially when it comes to “Qi colour”.

Using Skype or Face time, a Feng Shui consultant or fortune teller can only see the face outlines and some special facial features of a person.

One thing can be clearly seen from the Skype video call or Face time is the person's teeth. When someone talks or smile, most of the time they reveal their teeth, sometimes their gum as well.

A Feng Shui Master will definitely pay attention to the teeth of their clients. When someone talks, if you can see their teeth and gum, and the teeth are not neat and tidy, this means this person cannot keep any secret. If you tell them something, the next minute they will tell someone else, especially when you said this is between you and me.

Neat and Tidy Teeth Bring Good LuckThere is a saying in face reading text which states: “牙齊衣食能豐享”. The meaning in English is something like this: “Neat and tidy teeth have abundant food and clothes.”  In the other words neat and tidy teeth bring good luck.

In the old time, when food and clothes were scarcity, the formation of teeth was bad. So when a feng Shui master saw a kid or a person with neat and tidy teeth, he would say that they had abundant food and clothes. The logic behind is that this person from a wealth family and he got food and had good nutrition to develop his teeth.

Well, can this face reading sentence used by Feng Shui Master be applied to our today’s modern society?

In my experience, yes, the sentence still can be applied to our today’s modern society. And here is the evidence to support it.

According to a poll conducted last year by VisionCritical. Results found that people see whiter teeth as an indication of wealth.
The survey result showed that people with whiter teeth were thought to earn £10,000 more on average than they actually did.
Sparkling teeth also made them look up to five years younger and improved their employment potential by 10 per cent, results showed.
